Saskatoon's climate limits the time that al fresco dining can be enjoyed.  Nonetheless, warmer weather from May through September beckons people to enjoy the outdoors at many bars and restaurants.

Broadway Avenue is a popular spot for outdoor diners.  Nino's turns its parking lot into a patio during the summer with tables and umbrellas.  The Yard & Flagon pub has a popular rooftop deck with a view of the street.  Lydia's , in the historic Farnam Block, has a deck on the side of the building.  Restaurants such as Calories , the Broadway Roastery and the Broadway Cafe also set up a few tables and chairs out on the sidewalk.

The busy commercial district of 8th Street East has several restaurants with patios: Boston Pizza, Moxie's Classic Grill, The Broadway Roastery on 8th, Kelsey's, East Side Mario's, Avocado and Fuddruckers are among them.  Some simply jut out into the parking lot, which might not seem all that scenic.  Others are surrounded by landscaping which offers a bit of privacy and shields customers from the ugly asphalt and cars.

Downtown restaurants with outdoor dining include Chianti, O'Shea's Irish Pub, the Spadina Freehouse , and Earl's (often considered the best restaurant patio in the city).

The University of Saskatchewan area also has two outdoor dining venues of note.  Louis' pub on campus has an expansive patio set in the beautifully landscaped grounds.  Alexander's, just south of the campus on Cumberland Ave., converts part of its parking lot into an enclosed patio in the summer.
