Whitehorse is a year-round outdoor activity paradise. Alpine hiking, easy paddling on the Yukon River, great trail running, mountain biking and cross country skiing are all available right in city limits.

Whitehorse also has a local ski hill Mount Sima that offers summer family activities. The Canada Games Centre is a year round facility with skating rinks, swimming pool etc. 

The Whitehorse Nordic Centre is adjacent to the Canada Games Centre and is accessible by city transit. There are 85 kilometres of ski trails groomed for classic and skating. The ski season is usually from early November to mid April. Snowshoeing also allowed.  33 km of trail open for skiers with dogs.  Ski and snowshoe rentals available on site at The Ski Base.

Fishing for lake trout, northern pike, arctic grayling, whitefish and burbot is excellent. Dogsledding and rafting and canoeing offer year-round fun in unspoiled Yukon wilderness.
