 Pancakes  Economical to Moderate There's a toy train that has a track around the top of this restaurant and has all sorts of goofy characters.  Quite kitschy and fun for the kids to keep them amused.  Lots of local folk come here Sundays for their brunch.  Only open until 2:00 p.m. most days so don't be disappointed.  Great waffles and flapjacks but also try their teriyaki chicken burger.

Tea/Coffeehouse serving light meals and desserts  moderate The name of the establishment is actually Alicia's Kitchen, though the sign reads Molly Brown's.  Alicia, the owner, makes everything from scratch in this cozy and delightful cafe. The daily special is delightful, as is her menu, which is on parchment paper bound in wood.  Try the chicken ciabatta sandwich with a bowl of curry lentil soup!

Actually located 20 minutes out in Rosebud, That's Crafty has to have a mention. A beautiful renovated  barn full of crafts, the owner changes the theme of the teahouse ever year (the 2006 theme is chocolate) and decorates it beautifully.  The teahouse serves many varieties of tea, johnny cake, biscuits, sandwiches, fruit, cheese and vegetable plates, HUGE cinnamon buns (world famous).  Also has an outdoor screened in veranda so you can look outside over the green fields. An antique barn has opened up beside it.

East Coulee School Museum Cafe




 Cafe/Teahouse  economical to moderate In East Coulee, approximately 20 minutes from Drumheller.  From Drumheller, take Highway 10 south and follow the Hoodoo Trail. As you pass through Rosedale, you might want to stop for a look at the suspension bridge. Further down the road, take a break at the famous hoodoos, carved from the ancient rock by wind and rain erosion.

Next stop - East Coulee. There are lots of signs, and only one road into town, so you really can't miss it! As you pull into town, turn left and go past the old garage and the East Coulee Motor Inn. A few blocks down the road, turn right at the community hall, and the museum will be dead ahead. Think you missed it? Don't worry, East Coulee is only 9 blocks long and 3 blocks wide - nothing is ever far away here.
