Branksome Chine or Sandbanks are cleaner and more friendly than the areas of the Beach nearer Bournemouth such as Boscombe.

The Isle of Purbeck which can be accessed by car or the local bus service is a gem.  If you would like to see the spectacular Jurassic Coastline then this is a must.  An activity called Coasteering is a fantastic way to see the coastline for real, whilst having fun and adventure (if you like that kind of thing!).  Land & Wave Ltd can guide you.

The beach at Studland is fantastic and so is the Square and Compass pub at Worth Matravers (Especially if you like good, strong cider)

The Bournemouth area has numerous Bowling Greens which are open to everyone. It is a fun way to spend a couple of hours at a reasonable cost with equipment provided. Just ask the stewards on duty.

The south coast is a serious competitor for going abroad.
