The focal point of the town for visitors is picturesque Gold Hill, a steep, thatched cottage lined cobbled street made famous by the Hovis bread adverts (1973) of a small delivery boy streaming down the hill on his bicycle. The adverts were directed by Ridley Scott before he came to fame as Director of the infamous film 'Alien'.
