For such a small town Ramsgate is well endowed with very good eating establishments from a wide range of international cuisines. Independent businesses lead the way in Ramsgate with Pizza Express being the only chain restaurant in the town centre. You can find everything from Chinese, Thai and Indian to Persian and Russian cuisines.

Age & Sons British restaurant is now the town's only restaurant to be recommended in the Michelin Guide and has also received much praise from restaurant critics in national newspapers.

For a meal with a view, try one of the restaurants along Westcliff Arcade. This pedestrianised terrace has a panoramic view over the harbour, a great spot to sit outside when the weather is good. Here you can find Thai Orchid - an excellent Thai restaurant, nothing fancy but what they do they do well, their Lamb Mango and Pad Thai is recommended.

Also with spectacular views, The Royal Harbour Brasserie, at the end of the harbour's east pier, overlooks the sea to one side and the harbour to the other.

Another popular spot are the terraces of the cafes and bars along Harbour Parade get the morning sun so this a great place to enjoy a coffee and breakfast opposite the marina.

The largely pedestrianised town centre also has a number of restaurants, cafes and tea rooms. Take a stroll and see what you find!
