Bath is a walk-friendly city. The streets are well-laid out and pleasant. Many of the citys historic sites and tourist attractions are grouped together so it's easy to spend the day meandering from one to the other.

Despite being set in a bowl of rather steep sided hills and cliffs, Bath is generally a cycle friendly city. The city centre with the main tourist attractions is small enough to not need a bike, but there are many paths and trails along the River Avon, Kennet & Avon Canal and Bristol & Bath Railway Route. Bike racks are available in the downtown shopping areas.
