15 miles west of Salisbury on the A354 towards Blandford Forum at the tiny hamlet of Cashmoor (turn right to Gussage St. Andrew) you'll find the extraordinary private gallery of the work of artist Clare Shepherd. The gallery, called The National Gallery of Minchington, is in the heart of the historically notable Cranborne Chase, a beautiful area filled with iron-age burial mounds, roman roads and saxon defence ditches throughout, and once the hunting ground of King John (of Magna Carta). Clare's work is of bright, clear local landscapes, politically peopled fables and drawings, watercolours and sketches which will delight any viewer.
