Swansea has a rich cultural scene, and this is reflected in the festivals and events that occur throughout the year. A few highlights of Swansea's events calendar include:
Swansea Fringe Festival This years Swansea Fringe Festival runs from 27-29th June 2014. This weekend sees a fabulous line up of Poetry, Music, Art and Workshops. This is the first year where the Mini Fringe Festival will cater for children and host events for them too supported by Fusion Arts Foundation who aim to raise participation in the arts across the area. You can follow the festival here on Twitter or Facebook and submissions for acts and exhibitors will be accepted until June 20/06/14.
Swansea Festival -- this festival, held annually in October, features a number of musical concerts including jazz, classical, and operatic performances. Dramatic performances and lectures are also a part of the month-long event.
The Swansea Bach Choir performs choral concerts all year round in and around Swansea and further afield.
Performances range from large scale works like Handel's Messiah performed in large venues such as the Brangwyn Hall in Swansea and St David's Hall in Cardiff to performances of a range of music from Rennaisance times to the present day in smaller venues such a Swansea and Mumbles churches.
