From June to September check out Scottish Showtime to enjoy music and dance. In its 34th season, this show offers visitors a chance to hear traditional Scottish bagpipes, hear traditional songs and watch original Scottish dancing. It's been named the "Best Visitor Attraction" of Inverness in the past.  Call +44(0) 1249-830-930 for more details or check http://www.nessie.org.uk/

The Eden Court Theatre is another place to catch a great live show. It's the city main venue for drama, comedy, dance and music, and has a cinema.  The Nairn International Jazz Festival plays here. For more information, you can call the box office at 01463 234234 or check the website at http://www.eden-court.co.uk

You don't have to go to the theatre to see traditional Scottish dancing or catch a local band - a lot of the pubs offer live entertainment.  A partial gig list for the coming week can be found at http://www.inverness-scotland.com/wha...

Hootananny is one of the most popular venues for live music, with 3 bars (the Ceilidh Bar, Mad Hatters, and the Bothy Bar) offering great music (traditional folk and blues) every night of the week.  They serve excellent local beer from the Black Isle Brewery and good value Thai food.  Performance list can be found on their website: http://www.hootananny.co.uk/index2.htm
