If you are looking for fish most restaurants should have good, fresh fish on the menu - Westray haddock is a favourite.
For a particularly good meal with the emphasis on fish, The Creel in St Margarets Hope is always good. Probably viewed as a little pricey - around £80.00 for two - and generally only 3 to 4 choices for starters/mains/desserts, you could certainly argue this is so that the food is of the highest standard.
The Hamnavoe in Stromness will not disappoint you. The fish and seafood are fresh and thoughtfully and well prepared and presented. You can be sure of a warm welcome by the staff and the owners. Great value for money.
The Foveran is also fairly expensive but well worth a visit, very nice waiting area to have a pre-dinner drink and decide on your choices. The food is of an extremely high standard - wonderful steak.
The Lynnfield is a good place for a function - guests are given the choice of at least three starters / main course / dessert and the food is of very good standard.
You can't beat The Sands for set Sunday lunch at a very reasonable cost - generally three choices available, book early as it is very popular!
Very good 'bar snacks' as they call them available at The Quoyburray - a favourite with older children as it has a pool table to keep them occupied.
The Merkister has both a restaurant and bar snacks - the bar snacks are so good and there is such a lovely view over Harray Loch that you may stop there and not make it to the restaurant. Well known for a great crab salad - in fact, anything that comes with a salad has lovely variety and is very tasty.
Both of The Quoyburray and Merkister are very, very reasonably priced.
