Ireland is a very family-friendly country and Galway is no exception to that rule.  The city offers families with children several things to do from festivals to petting zoos, swimming, sailing, and boat rides.  Ireland West, the Galway Toursim Board, provides excellent ideas and information for family travel.  However, they caution that although children are generally allowed in most pubs, some have restrictions on children under the age of 15 during the evening.  Visit their page for more information.

Ireland West also provides a searchable data base for parents to look up activities to do with their kids while visiting.  The search provides random results of several child-friendly activities with each search attempt.
