A driving tour of County Wexford

A suggested drive in County Wexford starts in Bunclody in North County Wexford, but could start anywhere along the route. From Bunclody travel to Enniscorthy and visit the National 1798 Centre there. Next the National Heritage Park near Wexford Town. Then the historic Wexford town itself, with it beautiful quays and quaint long narrow Main Street, with lots of shops and restaurants. Then Johnstown Castle and agricultural museum and extensive gardens.

Kilmore Quay is next. There you will see beautiful thatched houses and views of the Saltee islands. From there to Cullenstown beach and a house beautifully decorated in sea-shells.  Next Hook Head and one of the oldest lighthouses in Europe. The beautiful John F Kennedy Arboretum and hill top drive are also worth visiting. New Ross next for a visit to the Dunbrody replica famine ship. Then back to Bunclody via Kilanne (of 1798 fame "Kelly the boy from Kilanne") for dinner in one of the fine eating places there.  Here is a link giving much more information on the above drive.
