By plane:  A majority of Strasbourg travelers reach the area by airplane.  The airport serving the area is the Strasbourg International Airport.  This airport is served by major international airlines including Air France, Lufthansa and Tunisair.  A complete list of airlines serving the airport is available on the website.  The airport is located approximately fifteen minutes outside of Strasbourg by car.

Upon arrival:  Many visitors opt to rent a car from the airport upon arrival in the area.  Car rental is available from Avis (, Citer (, Hertz ( and Sixt (  The airport is located approximately fifteen driving minutes from the center of Strasbourg.  Travelers will follow the signs leaving the airport to get on to Highway D392 which will lead to Strasbourg.

Alternate airports and train travel:   Travelers sometimes opt to fly into Frankfurt or Paris rather than flying in to Strasbourg.   This is because there are often much cheaper flights to those major cities.   Visitors can take a train from those locations to Strasbourg.   The train is also often a preferred option for travelers who are making Strasbourg one stop on a multi-destination tour of Europe.   Travelers should look in to the Eurailpass if considering that option.

Transportation to City Center:

There are regular bus-tramway connections from STRASBOURG-ENTZHEIM Airport to the city centre. A shuttle bus operates between Strasbourg International Airport and the Baggersee tram station all year round. Shuttle leaves the airport every 30 minutes between 5.10am and 23.15pm.  Tickets can be purchased at the coach driver or in the airport (as you get out, you will find 2 machines on the right). he Airport shuttle leaves at the Arrival bay by shuttle bus. Walk through the tunnel until the last stairs going down, where you can take the shuttle buse. The shutlle is a bus-tramway connection. and takes you to the Tramway terminal BAGGERSEE. There you connect with the TRAMway (Line #A, direction HAUTEPIERRE) which offers a wide choice of stops between Baggersee and the city centre. The whole trip takes about 15 minutes.
