Bayeux is a small town and walking around is very easy. It is small enough that you can get around most of the areas of interest by walking and along the way you can stop at the great boutiques for some shopping or the boulangeries or patisseries for some tasty snacks.
You may be renting a car however, to arrive in Bayeux in the first place, if this is the case getting around is easy when driving as well but again, you will most of the time want to get out and walk around. Renting mo-peds is another option and rentals can usually take place at the train stations, check with
SNCF for more information.
Walking around the gardens is a great leisurely activity that many tourists truly enjoy. There are several great parks and gardens in Bayeux. The
Jardin Public de Bayeux was created in 1859 and today is a national monument. It has great varieties of plants and flowers and greenhouse displays. The Jardin du Chateau de Brecy is a 17th century Italian garden with many gorgeous statues. Also the Jardin de Castillon Plantbessin has Japanese-inspired and English inspired garden styles and provides another beautiful place to walk.
