Deauville is home to the American Film Festival and the Asian Film Festival.

Now in its 32nd edition, the American Film Festival is the great rendezvous for American and French filmmakers and artists related to the movies. The festival has changed over the years adding new sections like the competition ten years ago and the documentary section in 2003 attracting the attention of big names of the movie industry such as Oliver Stone and Jonathan Demme.

Hollywood celebrities have attended the festival and some have returned several times. Clint Eastwood, Harrison Ford, Stephen Spielberg, Glenn Close, Nicole Kidman, Matt damon, Laureen Bacall among many other celebrities have participated giving or receiving awards in the festival.

Every March, the Asian Film Festival brings  to Deauville the best of films produced in China, South Corea, Thailand, Japan. Now in its 7th edition, it is a competitive festival. This year the great prize went to Dam Street by Chinese filmmaker Li Yu and the Jury's Prize to South Korea production The Peter Pan Formula by Cho Chang-ho.
