Public transportation

In Stuttgart, the best way to cover short distances is by using the Stadtbahn (a light rail system) or bus and for longer distances, the S-Bahn is the way to go.

Once you are in possession of a valid ticket, it can be used on all buses, trains and trams.

Walking

In Stuttgart, the inner city is easy to get to know by walking around.

Here are some streets and places to get to know by foot:

 

  • Rotebühlplatz: Calwer Passage
  • Königstraße: Hauptbahnhof, Schlossplatz.
  • Marienstraße.
  • Rathaus: Marktplatz (Rathausplatz), Schulstraße
  • Bolzstraße, Friedrichsbau, Liederhalle
  • Stadtpark: Staatstheater, Staatsgalerie, Charlottenplatz

Biking

In the centre of town, bike routes are not well developed and traffic is plenty.

Once you leave the centre though, there are many paths through the surrounding forests.

In order to rent a bike, “Rent a bike” offers you that possibility.

By car

It is not always easy to find somewhere to park in Stuttgart.

You will have to pay more or less 1,50 Euro per hour for a parking place.

By taxi

Taxis are rather expensive.

Rental car

Avis, Europcar, Hertz, Sixt and enterprise all can be found in Stuttgart. At the airport,

they can be found at Terminal 3, Level 2.

You can of course also hire a car and driver for the ultimate in convenience.
