Golf Courses

Golf enthusiasts should have no problem getting their fix while visiting Cadiz. There are a number of high-quality golf courses in the area. The following represent a selection of them:

Montenmedio Golf and Country Club

Considered one of the most scenic golf courses in Europe, this 18-hole championship layout is spread over the softly rolling Dehesa and sculpted to the natural landscape. Montenmedio is located about 45 minutes southeast of Cadiz (see web site for directions). A golf school located on the premises offers lessons for every skill level in Spanish, English and German. There is also a pro shop. There are two restaurants at the club, and other activities include 4-wheel excursions and horse riding.

Club de Golf Novo Sancti Petri

This scenic 27-hole golf course, bordering along a beautiful beach and winding through landscaped grounds, is at par 72 and presents a challenge to golfers of all skill levels.  The course is located half an hour south of Cadiz near Chiclana de la Frontera (see web site for directions). The golf club is part of a resort development that also includes hotels and pristine beaches. Green fees vary by season and range from 33€ for nine holes to as much as 61€ for 18 holes.

Golf El Puerto

Across the bay from the old town of Cádiz is El Puerto de Santa Maria and a relatively new but now established course is open and is proving very popular indeed.

Sherry Golf

Just on the southern outskirts of Jerez on the road to Cádiz (the NIV) is Sherry Golf with its impressive club house and tough parkland course.

A new course opened in 2006 yet promising to be one of the best ones in the area. Carefully designed by American specialists. Just south of Arcos de la Frontera on the road leading to Algar.
