Teatro Campoamor is a theater that is a beautiful Belle Epoque building, finished in 1892. It was named for Ramon de Campoamor, who was a famous playwright and poet. The theater was destroyed during the Spanish civil war and only the facade remained standing. The theater was reconstructed in 1948 and besides holding opera concerts, it is the site for the Principe de Asturias Prizes.
