The region of Mürren offers activities for the adventurer year round. During the summer that means plenty of hiking and mountain biking when the region is lush and green. The valleys offer nearly endless possibilities to become one with nature, with trails for the novice or hardcore hiker or biker.

To get a bit more insight on the region there are even mountain tours that include glacier hikes and overnight lodging. There are even aerial tours of the surrounding countryside that offer an entirely different way to see the Swiss Alps. And for the truly adventurous the newest sport to hit the region is paragliding, which lets you take the ride of a lifetime!

When the seasons change the activities change to winter sports in Mürren. There are numerous downhill ski runs in the surrounding region, along with cross-country skiing, tours of the region on skis, cross-country skiing and tobogganing. Plus the site is home to numerous international competitions for both skiing and ice-skating, where visitors can enjoy some world-class events, including the now infamous Inferno downhill competition. Dating back to 1928 this is among the most continuous annual skiing competition in the world.

And the Golden Snowball is held in the town each December, and is a national competition that highlights the talent of Switzerland, complete with a gala show on ice on the final evening of the event.
