This building used to be the head of postal service stations in Brussels.

It now offers room for mayor fairs (Foire du Livre, Affordable Art Fair) and big cultural events (Culinaria, Couleur Cafe concerts).

The name of the station was kept and is historically linked to the Princely House of Thurn and Taxis (Germandas Fürstenhaus Thurn und Taxis) (a German family that was a key player in the postal services in Europe in the 16th century and is well known as owners of breweries and builders of many castles).
