The valley of the Scheldt is ideal for cycling. That's why south of Ghent, the old meanders of the river and the towpaths along the actual river have been inserted in a bicycle trail of about 92 km. But for your comfort it has been split up in three different sections. One south of Oudenaarde, one between Oudenaarde and Gavere and finally one between Gavere and Ghent. http://www.tov.be/uploadedfiles/_prod... (map) http://users.telenet.be/roger.blomme1... The other parts are along low traffic roads.
