The Church of the Carmelite Fathers in the Ghent Burgstraat was inaugurated in 1714 and has a very beautiful and homogeneous interior in a transition style bewteen baroque and classicism. The wood paneling gives this church a warm and welcoming feeling. http://www.karmel-gent.be/ (Dutch). Apart from that, the monastery is quite active with the Carmelitana bookshop and a spiritual reflection center Het Rustpunt (Dutch) where you can even stay for a few days, while visiting the town.
