Tivoli Gardens is a famous amusement park and pleasure garden in Copenhagen. The park was opened on August 15, 1843 and is the second oldest amusement park in the world. In 2012 it received 4 million visitors and is the fourth most visited theme park in Europe. The amusement park was founded by George Carstensen (1812-1857) when King Christian VIII granted him land for the park. The park has many restaurants, beautiful gardens, shows, and many rides that can entertain young people. Tivoli is the perfect place for a stroll or show, and there are nighttime fireworks displays. The park has more than 100,000 light bulbs at night. There is an artificial lake, a Chinese Pagoda, Pantomime Theater, and the Tivoli Concert Hall for concerts.
