The Seurasaari museum is on an island a few kilometers outside the centre of Helsinki. It is easily reached by the bus number 24, and the route is quite scenic. In addition to being a museum, the island is a popular place to go for a walk or a run. The squirrels and birds on the island are quite tame. At Christmas, Easter and Midsummer there are special events on Seurasaari, and during the summer there are often handicraft demonstrations.
Remember to visit the Iron age village in Pukkisaari off Seurasaari bridge.
