Monte Carlo has been known as the host for the International Formula 1 car race. But this is not the only international event happening in Monte Carlo. In the Twentieth century, Monaco has demonstrated a steady commitment to sponsor art and cultural events inviting artists from all over the world. Let's see two festivals that continue this tradition.

The Cinema and Literature International Forum is an annual festival where writers, screenwriters, producers, film directors, publishers and agents meet to discuss the difficulties of adapting literary works into film. Hollywood celebrities and filmmakers such as Sydney Pollack, Nora Ephron and Michael York have attended this festival. The forum includes a film festival and a Remake Film Market.

After the Forum, which takes place in April, the Monte Carlo Television Festival follows in May. It is an old festival featuring its 46th edition in 2006. More than one hundred television programs from all over the world participate in this competitive festival. Actors and producers from popular television series arrive in Monte Carlo and make the festival a celebrities' show.
