Castillo de la Estrella

The Castle of the Stars was first built by the Romans, and later the Moors continued building the fortress. The castle is located at 600m above sea level. At the height of its glory, the fortress was considered impregnable, with an interior area of 20,000 square meters. There were two walled enclosures with a total of 18 towers. Today only the Homage Tower and the Patio de Armas exist. During the Reconquest, this castle was a center of battle between the troops of Alfonso XI and the Moors.

About 70 years ago the castle was named a Monument of National Historic-Artistic Interest. The castle is located on the highest hill of Teba, so it has wonderful views of the countryside.
