Modern electric trains run frequently from both Leeds and Bradford, with less frequent trains passing through en route from Leeds to Morecambe and Carlisle. The latter trains follow the spectacular Settle Carlisle line through the Yorkshire Dales - see www.settle-carlisle.co.uk for details.
There are bus links into Skipton from Grassington, Bolton Bridge, Harrogate, Leeds, Otley, Ilkley, Keighley, Burnley and Settle. For bus links into the Yorkshire Dales see www.dalesbus.org
Transport information is available online at www.yorkshiretravel.net, you can also get information at the Tourist Information Centre located in the Town Hall on the High Street. Don't go to the bus station for information though - there's no travel office and very few timetables on display.
Allow 10 minutes to walk to the railway station from the town centre or bus station.
