Caceres weather is rather temperate, and consistent, with winter chills barely breaking below forty but summer highs in the hundreds.  The city, is, therefore, a rather pleasant place to visit any time of year except high summer, with little precipitation and much in the way of Atlantic breezes.

Festivals and celebrations in Caceres are multiple.  Of these, four worth checking out in January and February would include La Encamisa, El Jarramplas, Las Carantonas (grotesque masks) and Las Candelas (the candles).

The World of Music, Arts, & Dance
festival hits Caceres in the Spring, bringing in visitors from farther away than surrounding Extremadura.  Performing in the city’s Gran Teatro, WOMAD’s workshops and concerts are free and extraordinary, making it one of the most anticipated Caceres events of the year.

The parties surrounding San Jorge, taking place in April in the Plaza Mayor, are huge, and the Ferias de Mayo is also a traveler’s treat.
