Sydney can be expensive place to live, but it doesn't have to be eat out well! Try these suggestions.

 

Sydney CBD

 1. Leading the charge for bar snacks & cheap price eats are the guys over at The Passage in Darlinghurst. Including half off the food menu and $10 cocktails Tuesday's, check for daily specials through the week..

2. Bringing honest and authentic Thai cooking to Sydney patrons for the last 25 years is Chat Thai. Head to their original location in Sydney's ThaiTown for delicious, fast and easy of the wallet Thai classics! Open weekdays till 2am.  

3.  The Norfolk is a pub and beer garden situated in Sydney's inner west where Mexican cantina meets stateside diner. Head there between 12pm and 3pm weekdays to feast on their $12 daily lunch specials! 

4. For a gourmet lunch requiring no utensils but two hands make way to Malibu in Surry Hills.This matchbox sized shop serves up classic sandwich options; can't go past the chicken schnitzel & baby cos on white and the roasted veggie & hummus on wholemeal bread. 

5. For late night or casual lunch Harry's Cafe de Wheels is a great option, with locations throughout the city. This Sydney institution has been serving up hearty fare for over 70 years! Packed with prawns, scallops, salmon and white sauce the seafood pie is fantastic; but it's hard to pass the classic namesake Tiger Beef Pie served with mushy peas, mash & gravy.

6. Lastly and recently crowned no. 1 on The Urban List's Sydney Top 20 Burgers is Chur over in Surry Hills. Perfectly constructed brioche buns, interesting sides, and milkshakes with real ice cream its a winner all round!!  

 

North Sydney

 

1. For authentic ramen endorsed by Iron Chef French head to Ryo's Noodles in Crows Nest. At Ryo's queues snake its way round the block for the infamous bowl of ramen; umami broth, pork, bamboo shoots and split eggs its sure to turn anyone to ramen convert!   

Inner West

 1. If you're looking for authentic lebanese pizza and traditional dishes, Manoosh is where it's at. They have an extensive menu including pizzas, Lebanese wraps and flat breads, dips and salald, mostly below the $20 mark. The best thing is on Monday-Wednesday, all large pizzas are $10.
