There's a really cheap and great vego place hidden away upstairs on Rundle Street. Even die-hard meat eaters have been known to enjoy it! It's called "Vego n Love'n it" 240 Rundle St, Adelaide.

Another option is to visit  to the Central Market area near Victoria Square in Gouger Street. You will find a great range of cheap restaurants and cafes. More importantly the markets themselves have the makings of just about any meal you care to think of. You can get all sorts of bread. There are several cheese shops and shops that sell all sorts of sausage and smallgoods. There is a huge range of high quality fruit and vegetables and there are several places where you get fresh meat, poultry and fish. Then of course there is the fabulous nuts and dried fruit at Charlesworth's. You can have your breakfast and lunch here and then take home something delicious to cook for the evening.
