To move around in the city there are buses, trams, and of course taxis. The public transport is relatively cheap, clean, and efficient. It connects all suburbs to the city centre, and the train and bus stations.

The public transportation in Poznan is operated by Miejskie Przedsiebiorstwo Komunikacyjne (MPK) (see also English pages). You can find ticket prices and timetables of all tram and bus lines there (pages in PL, EN, and DE languages available).

Even more information about the public transport in Poznan Agglomeration Area (Poznan and its suburbs) you may find at Municipal Board of Transport (MBT) web page. (pages in PL and EN languages available).

If you wish to plan your trip in Poznan using public transport, you may find JakDojade.pl site very useful. If you plan use a taxi in Poznan please remember to use only licensed taxis, use of "radio-taxi" companies is highly recommended. The taxi rank at the airport are dedicated to the licenced companies only (selected by airport), but note that at the railway station the taxi rank is occupied by some non-company cabs. In many cases the price in such a cab is much higher than in a "radio-taxi" company car. The choice is yours. The most important information: every cab needs to have clearly visible (typically on a passenger window) price list with a price rate for "starting the engine" and each passed kilometer.

 Typical prices:

  • Bus from the airport to the railway station (or city centre): line 59 and line L (fast line to the centre). LIne 48 stop is also close to the airport (about 200m). Price of the ticket is PLN 4,60 for 40 minutes trip or PLN 3,00 for 10 minutes trip (but the trip to the city center takes about 15-20 minutes)*. You can buy tickets at vending machine near terminal T2 or at the bus - also at the vending machine. You cannot buy tickets from the driver! At vending machines on streets you may pay with credit cards or cach. Ticket machines inside trams and buses accept only coins.
  • Taxi from the airport to the railway station (or city centre): cost PLN 25,00-30,00.
