If you are going to Bangkok with kids visit Dreamworld, Safari World and Siam Park. Better leave the hotel around 9.00 Am as the parks open by 10.00 am and since it takes around 40 to 45 mins in a taxi from city. Taxi fares usually are around 250  to 300 baht one way. Remember to travel in taxis with meters only. just dress them in comfortable clothes and remember a change of clothes as there are lots of water attractions in the parks. There's lots of refreshments in the parks but tourists are charged around 700 Baht at Dream World and Safari world. Siam Park  admission is 300 baht for a tourist. once you purchase these tickets rides are unlimited and you need not pay for rides seperately. For shopping outside markets may be too strenuous for kids, I recommend Platinum Mall and Indra Square. But remember if you buy three items in one shop you are entitled to wholesale rates which is around 40% less. There is very limited room for bargaining if you do not speak Thai. The trick is to do window shopping the first time and check out the prices. Once you know where the item can be purchased at the best price you can always go the next day. Prices for the same item varies from mall to mall and shop to shop. Big C is the place for all super market items whther it be food, shampoos, towels, sweets, chocolates etc, etc, etc. Big C is also close to Pratunam. If you need sports items, beauty items etc there are specialised shops selling them. Just ask your hotel Reception.

Bangkok is a great place to go with kids. Thais love children and it is not a sweat pouring, dirty, dinghy, s-x crazed place as some people make it look like. Have fun.
