Hue is a small city and the traffic is light so it's pretty easy to explore all corners of the city.

From the airport to city center, it's just about 13 km (8 miles). The train station is inside the city (just 2.5km (1.5 mile) to the Inner City (Đại Nội))

Within peaceful Hue, a bicycle can take you anywhere, the rental fee is about 20k (1$) /day.

If you want something faster like the locals, you can rent a motorcycle for 100k/day, but you must have a licence, and the helmet comes with the bike. Rental shops pops up like mushrooms along streets Nguyen Tri Phuong, Hung Vuong, Pham Ngu Lao, Chu Van An.

However, if you insist on traveling on motorbike without a licence, then take 'xe-om' (motorbike taxi) , but be prepare to bargain a bit.

Obviously, there're always taxis, about 14k/ km.

And driving car is the last thing you want to do in Vietnam,  even though the country does accept international driving permit since 2015. The roads are so unsafe with motorcycles swinging in front of your car. And drivers, mostly truckers drive in the center of the road until they encounter a coming vehicle and will swerve to the right. Drivers usually drive very fast. Also, any business involving foreigners take forever for the police to process, so if any mishap takes place on the road, your vacation is over.

So be safe, be informative and enjoy your visit in one of the best cities in Vietnam
