Bangladesh has 56 Embassies, High Commissions, Consulates and missions abroad where one can easily apply for a visa. The complete list can be found in the
website of the Immigration Department - http://www.dip.gov.bd/?q=content/page.... A visa on arrival is available for tourists and business travelers of certain countries who arrive by air. The visa on arrival fee is US $51 for a stay of 15 or 30 days, provided the visa applicant has a return air ticket and at least US $500 in cash with him/her. In addition to Dhaka airport, the visa on arrival is also available at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong and Osmani International Airport in Sylhet. This means that one doesn't necessarily have to arrive in Dhaka first. To avail the visa on arrival facility, the visa applicant should arrive and leave Bangladesh through the same airport.
The visa on arrival can be renewed once, for another period of 15 or 30 days at the visa office in Agargaon in Dhaka, if the applicant submits the renewal form before the current visa expires. This visa office is adjacent to the Regional Passport Office building in Agargaon in Dhaka. The visa on arrival renewal fee is US $51.
The visa on arrival is not available for overland entries, or for workers or researchers, even if they arrive by air. So prospective applicants will have to obtain the appropriate visa from the nearest Bangladeshi High Commission, Embassy or Consulate and apply at least 1 month before their intended travel date.
