The Solomon Islands Visitors Bureau (SIVB) can be found on Mendana Avenue just to the right of the Kitano Mendana Hotel (and to the left of the Yacht Club). It is in a wooden building painted in the national flag's colours: blue, yellow and green. The SIVB is open during working people's office hours and the occasional Saturday morning. A free information guide with maps plus information on things to see and do is available at their office as well as at most major hotels. Though you will not find postcards, phonecards or many glossy brochures, instead, the friendly staff will give you off-the-top-of-the-head information on any island and they will radio the ones that do not possess a telephone.
