This is the most important square on Calea Victoriei Boulevard. It is the place where you can find the old royal palace (now the museum of art), the Atheneum, a new statue made afeter an old statue of Carol the First King of Romania, a strange looking monument dedicated to the revolution from 1989 and other things. It was also the scene of many events, like the revolution from 1989 and clashes between the liberals and the comunists in the late '40s.
