One thing you need to know when you arrive to Nuuk, or Greenland in general: You cannot drive by car from city to city because of the geography. There are no roads between cities due to the ice that lies inland. However there are flights, charters, and ferries available for transportation between different towns in Greenland.

Nuuk is easily explored by foot. In Nuuk you can take a bus, take a taxi or even walk into the town from the airport. It is very common to walk, since it is a relativly small place. Almost everything is in walking distance(max 30-45 min walk). And by walking you get to see much more. The city's road network is 100km, making it easy to get around. You can go to nearby towns by boat or ferry. During the winter months, you can explore the city on skis along the illuminated trails.
