The museum is located at one of the most beautiful local nineteenth-century houses. The courtyard is peaceful and welcoming, a wonderful place to rest during one's walking tour of Plovdiv.
The price of the ticket at present is merely 5 leva (2.5 Euro) but there is an additinal charge of 5 leva for taking pictures inside the museum.
Traditions and everyday life of Bulgarian people from the Plovdiv region are represented well, with a good number of exhibits covering farming, crafts like ironmongery, pottery, jewellery, local music and dance traditions, folklore costumes... The rooms that represent the furnishings of ordinary and rich houses are also interesting to see. All of that is set at the background of the original 1847 house with its magnificent painted walls and woodcarved ceilings.
