By plane:  The main airport for the Sinai and Red Sea is Sharm el Sheikh. It is now possible to fly there direct from a number of airports in Europe. British Airways flies direct from Gatwick as do a number of charter flights.

NOTE:   Visitors are reminded to inform themselves of updated safety issues ( ) before flying to this area.   This is due to the prevalence of terrorist threats there.

Upon arrival:  There are car rental agencies located at both of those airports which is one option for travelers to use to get from the airport to their local hotel destinations.  However, rental car is not considered the optimal method of getting around the area (see l for more information.)  For this reason, it is advised that travelers opt to take local buses or taxis from the hotel to their ultimate destination in Sinai and the Red Sea area.

By train:    There is no train to the Sinai.
