Montgomery Regional Airport is the main airport serving Montgomery. The airport authority completed a three phase terminal renovation and expansion in 2006 preparing for growth in the Montgomery area. The new terminal facility includes many new services and amenities of a larger world class airport yet with the ease of getting through without extra hassles. A new modern up-to-date parking system was completed in the Fall of 2010. Three major air carriers serve the Montgomery airport. They are Delta Airlines, U.S. Airways Express, and American Airlines Eagle Airlines . These airlines offer daily service to Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC; and Dallas-Fort Worth, TX. (Check airlines for individual schedules.) Montgomery Regional Airport is 7 miles from downtown Montgomery, take Highway 80 Exit (167) off Interstate-65S.
There are two major interstates that surround Montgomery: Interstate-65 and Interstate-85. Visitors traveling on Interstate-65 from Mobile take the Herron Street Exit (172) to arrive downtown; those traveling Interstate-65 from Birmingham take the Clay Street Exit (172). If arriving from Atlanta on Interstate-85, to reach downtown Montgomery, take the Union Street Exit (1). Montgomery is a Greyhound bus destination. The local terminal is located at 950 W South Boulevard.
