chicken dinner

Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant is an icon to Buena Park and the Knott's Berry Farm attraction.   It all started with the berry stand and their original creation of the boysenberry.   In 1934, Mrs. Cordelia Knott served up her famous fried chicken to the locals, tourists, and folk traveling past their stand on Highway 39, also known as Beach Boulevard . Of course, back then Mrs. Knott did all the cooking and her three daughters served the five-table Tea Room. The small restaurant became so popular that her husband, Walter Knott, wanted to give guests something to do during the common one-hour waits.   So Walter bought or constructed exact replicas of buildings from California ’s early ghost towns and placed them in the area around the restaurant.  These were the humble beginnings of Knott’s Berry Farm as it is known today.

Since 1934, over 20,000,000 guests have eaten chicken dinners in the famous restaurant.   Hungry visitors look forward to its classic menu featuring the same famous chicken, biscuits, and boysenberry pie. There's just no going wrong with that crispy moist chicken, warm buttermilk biscuits, fluffy mashed potatoes, rich chicken gravy and mouth-watering farm-fresh vegetables.   And while they still serve the classics from back in the day, they also serve other delicious favorites off their menu.
