Enstrom Candy Factory

Founded in 1929 as an ice cream company in Grand Junction, Enstrom is now best known for their almond toffee, as well as other candy confections and toffee popcorn. They still produce their own ice cream in several flavors, including their famous almond toffee. The company is still run by members of the founding family, and there are now additional locations in Fruita, CO and the Denver area. The main offices, factory, and store are located at 701 Colorado Avenue in downtown Grand Junction, CO 81501. At this location, you can watch the candy makers making the almond toffee. At the time of this writing, you can see the candy making between 7AM and 3PM MST Monday through Friday. You see the entire process of mixing and rolling out the layers of toffee, almonds, and chocolate through a glass window overlooking the work area. While you watch, you can enjoy made-to-order coffee and chocolate beverages, pastries, candy, and/or ice cream in a seating area with bar stools and counters. There is a retail area where you can purchase toffee, containers of ice cream, chocolates, and seasonal treats such as candied apples and chocolate Easter bunnies and eggs. There are always free samples of toffee and sometimes other candies. This is a pleasant stop while visiting the Grand Junction area.
