It may be a challenge to find anything under $8 in Steamboat Springs. That said, here are some places with fast options; if you study the menus, you may find them cheaper, too!

Taco Cabo, 30475 East U.S. Highway 40 (E. Lincoln Ave), website. Just a 2 minute drive or bike ride east of Historic Downtown, you will find really tasty Mexican fare with innovative sauces from Chef Kent. Serving Breakfast Burritos, Tacos, Burritos, and Tortas amply filled with well-made  Puerca Asada, to Pork Chili Verde, the Pescado, Carne Asada, Chicken, Chorizo, Jamon, etc., and the Thai Taco. Nothing on the menu is over $9. Tacos are $4 and Tortas are $6, breakfast is $7. Good deal, good food. Order ahead to avoid the line 970-846-2307 and save room for the Choco-Flan which is five bucks of Yum! and worth the calories.
