Lionshead is an often-overlooked satellite of Vail. Accessible by the local circulating bus service, on foot, or by car it is about a mile west of the original Vail village. With similar neo-European alpine motifs, Lionshead has some of the top restaurants in terms of quality and value. The shops are more accessible to the average tourist than some of the exclusive Vail boutiques, the atmosphere is upbeat and friendly, and the childrens' play area and adventure camp are outstanding. The parking structure includes immaculate public restrooms and the lobby houses a visitor center with maps, brochures and extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff.
