Winter Park is a small town (with a population of less than 700)
located in Grand County, Colorado. The main reason that people visit
this town is because of the ski resort that is located in town.
The Winter Park Resort
is one of the largest ski resorts in Colorado, and is located about an
hour and a half northwest of Denver. Winter park has two different
areas, Winter Park and Mary Jane. The Winter Park side of the mountain
is filled with mainly blues and greens (with occasional blacks), many
if which are groomed often. The Mary Jane part of the resort is for
expert skiers and riders, as the runs for the most part are blacks,
being very steep and bumpy. Winter Park averages around 350 inches of
snowfall per year, and generally has one of the deepest bases in
Colorado (aside from the resorts down south).
A good place to begin doing some preliminary research is on this Winter Park Information
page, which was found through Wikipedia. Here, one can obtain such
background information as history and population statistics.
