Because of its warm climate, Fernandina Beach is a destination that is visited year round.  However, certain months can be more comfortable than others.

On Average, the hottest months of the year are July and August, during which time the daily high temperatures will hover around the upper 80’s and lower 90’s.  The nighttime temperatures during these months will generally drop to the mid 70’s.  Humidity plays a major role in the comfort level of this island.  Often times, during the summer months especially, the high humidity makes the temperatures seem much hotter than they are.

The coldest months of the year on average are January and February, during which time the daily high temperatures will generally reach the mid 60’s.  The nighttime temperatures during these months will drop to the mid 40’s.  Many people enjoy visiting during the winter, as the mild conditions are a relief compared to the cold weather being felt in many other areas in the Northern Hemisphere.

Spring and fall are both great times to visit Amelia Island.  The temperatures are nearly perfect, and the summer crowds are not around.

Rain is a possibility any time of the year, but the months between June and September are the wettest.  Luckily, Amelia Island is not known to be affected by hurricanes.
