South Florida Jazz

South Florida Jazz brings top jazz talent from around the world to South Florida. Performances feature jazz legends and current headliners.  The 2013-14 season included Diane Schurr, the Christian McBride Trio, and the Brad Mehldau Trio.  It's not unusual for the perfomers to be playing for South Florida Jazz right before or after playing at the Blue Note, or Dizzy's Club Coca Cola at Lincoln Center, The Village Vanguard, or Smalls.  The range of performances is from classic to new age, from smooth to cutting edge, but always great performances. This is an opportunity to see and hear great jazz musicians playing in an acoustically perfect 450 seat theater.  This is not a jazz club, so you don't have to buy drinks or a meal. Tickets are available online for $40 per person plus the typical fees.

The South Florida Jazz concert series includes 8 concerts that run from November through June at the Miniaci Performing Arts Center at Nova University in Davie, bordering Ft. Lauderdale. It's about 15 minutes from downtown Ft. Lauderdale. Concerts are on the second Saturday night of the month. The concerts start at 8PM and are usually done by 10:30PM. There are lots of restaurants nearby on University Drive. Check out the performance schedule on www.southfloridajazz.org
