Mount Dora is fortunate to have several Wine Shoppes and ALL work in cooperation to offer different wine tastings each month.

Norm's Palette is the more recent addition to unique Wine Shops wirth a larger venue seen elsewhere. There are multiple rooms with overstuffed sofas and chairs in which to languish and it is found on the Corner of Third Avenue and Baker Street. They also offer live music and a laid back atmosphere with a huge array of Artwork, including Steampunk Art.  Most of which is offered for sale. They have tapas and hors d'hoevres with a huge array of wine to choose from at realistic prices.

The Cellar at Maggie's Attic, which is in the Arbors and Eyebrows complex at the corner of Fourth Avenue and Alexander Streets near Pisces Rising, is a family-run business with seating both inside and outside in the alley, many times with live music. The Cellar at Maggie 's Attic does two wine tastings a month on the first and third Saturdays for a cost of $15 a person.  Wines are placed at three or four locations nearby (other stores) and each station of wine offers both whites and reds to taste. Tickets are sold from a table in the alleyway by Stephanie, the owner who can guide you as you start the tasting.  Additional wines can be purchased inside from Jerome, or he can recommend a new or interesting beer or ale.

The Wine Den on Fourth Avenue and Donnelly Streets, next to Piglet's Pantry Dog Bakery, offers a different wine tasting on the first and third Friday of the month. Wines are also at different local places which change monthly (so other shop owners can participate), but wines are paired with foods that are selected for those wines: salmon crostini with a group of white wines, to Shiraz or Merlot with steak flatbreads or homemade meatballs, to heavy reds, like Cabernets.  Cheeses and bread are available throughout the wine tasting to cleanse the palate for each tasting.

Three terrific wine experiences... One a place where people are comfortable with a $2 beer or an $8 bottle of wine... the other a more upscale experience where people frequently are enjoying a $40 bottle of wine that is decanted in a beautiful glass decanter shared in beautiful glasses from the Wine Enthusiast, and a third is filled with wonderful Art and comfortable Sofas. Each offers a completely different wine and social experience which is what makes Mount Dora such a wonderful place to live & visit
