Things to do:

Sugarloaf Lodge & Tikki Bar - a cocktail at the tikki bar while you walk around the grounds.  This hotel is reminiscent of the old Florida Keys.

Perky's Bat Tower - visit this place and read the history at   http://www.florida-keys-pages.com/int...  & http://www.batcon.org/batsmag/v7n2-5....  to read about another Florida Keys oddity.

Florida Keys Medievil Fesitval - Every January.  fun for the whole family. http://www.flkeysmedievalfest.com/

American Shoal Lighthouse (unmanned) - Super-duper great snorkling at this area.  Visit http://www.lighthousefriends.com/ligh...  Here's an excerpt:  "For a distant view of the lighthouse from land, turn south onto Sugarload Boulevard from the Overseas Highway at Mile Marker 17. When the road tees after 2.6 miles, turn right and drive 2.5 miles to a small bridge over Sugarload Creek from where you can see the lighthouse on a clear day. To get a closeup view of the tower a boat or plane ride is necessary. Boats can be rented from Cudjoe Gardens Marina and Dive Center , or you might even be able to arrange a dive or snorkel trip to the lighthouse with them. We flew over the lighthouse with Fantasy Dan's Airplane Rides, located at the Sugarloaf Airport near MM 17. Fantasy Dan's can be reached at (305)745-2217."

Skydiving - At the sugarloaf airport.  Do this at least once in your lifetime.  Why not in the Florida Keys?  Visit http://skydivekeywest.com/
